Camp Half Blood

Welcome, Demigods!

"If you're reading this because you think you might be one, my advice is: close this book right now. Being a half-blood is dangerous."

[Basically, if you've ever wanted to throw your character into the world of Heroes of Olympus, now you can! Make them a Greek demigod! Make them Roman! Make them a Satyr if you want. Just make it so that they've always been here (If they have, all the better for them.) Post with a few options, or let people respond with their own! Have fun.]

Oh yeah, it's the best view in all of camp!

[He means the lake too, but he's not specifying that.]

So what were you doing down there anyway?
cephalopodcounselor: (02)

[personal profile] cephalopodcounselor 2013-06-30 01:11 am (UTC)(link)
Of course it is.

[She gives a slight smile.]

I was spending time with a squad of squid.
windyheir: (thinking)

[personal profile] windyheir 2013-06-30 01:56 am (UTC)(link)
Squids, huh?

[Sounds like something right up Rose's alley.]

Did they have anything interesting to say?
cephalopodcounselor: (11)

[personal profile] cephalopodcounselor 2013-06-30 01:58 am (UTC)(link)
Yes.

[A smirk as she wraps her towel around her waist.]

Only that the horrorterrors would be coming for you in your sleep tonight.
windyheir: (oh god no)

[personal profile] windyheir 2013-06-30 02:10 am (UTC)(link)
Nooooo not the horrorterrors!

[He's pretending to freak out over here. He's a total ham.]

Now I'll have nightmares and I'll have to sneak into people's beds to get any sleep and then get punched because all the other kids hates that shit!

Will you take responsibility for this, Rose? Will you?
cephalopodcounselor: (67)

[personal profile] cephalopodcounselor 2013-06-30 02:20 am (UTC)(link)
[She can tell it's a farce. It's painfully obvious when he's hamming it up.]

No. It's hardly my fault if you suffer from petrifying phantasms while you slumber. If anything you should blame Cthulhu.
windyheir: (that sure is a thing)

[personal profile] windyheir 2013-06-30 06:49 pm (UTC)(link)
You know Cthulhu's not real, right?

[He feels the need to say this, since there are gods that are really real, but Cthulhu is not one of them.]
cephalopodcounselor: (01)

[personal profile] cephalopodcounselor 2013-06-30 06:57 pm (UTC)(link)
[Cthulhu could be real. Don't discriminate, John.]

I fail to see how one set of gods existing precludes all others from that same right. Greek mythology is only the tip of the iceberg in all of humanity's mythological history. Are you denying the possibility that the Norse myths, Egyptian myths, Chinese myths, Japanese myths and all other myths are real? The myths have to come from somewhere, and since it has been proven to us that the Greek gods and goddesses exist, why should we doubt the others do?
windyheir: (durr)

[personal profile] windyheir 2013-06-30 10:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, for one, I've actually seen a Greek God before.

[Hello Mr. D.]

If I ever actually meet a non-Greek god, then sure, I'll start believing.
cephalopodcounselor: (13)

[personal profile] cephalopodcounselor 2013-06-30 10:52 pm (UTC)(link)
In other words, you are telling me you only believe things which you yourself have seen in person with your own eyes. Having seen one Greek god was enough for you to believe in them and everything to do with their mythology.

These myths happen to share many similarities with the mythologies of other cultures, including overlap in names and/or descriptions of mythological beasts. These myths propagated within periods of time when travel between continents was rare and the language barriers were for the most part unbreached.

Therefore, the chances of all other mythologies being false seems quite unfathomable. But if you insist on maintaining your non-belief, I suppose I will have to redouble my efforts to educating you on the various mythologies from around the world until you are able to understand the connections between all of them.
windyheir: (little gust)

[personal profile] windyheir 2013-06-30 11:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Or I could just use my wind and blow you back into the lake, towel and all.
cephalopodcounselor: (72)

[personal profile] cephalopodcounselor 2013-06-30 11:13 pm (UTC)(link)
[She sighs.]

Did you even pay attention to a single word I said?

[She expects the answer will be "no" or "some of them".]
windyheir: (confident)

[personal profile] windyheir 2013-06-30 11:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah yeah, myths are the same all over, more talk about gods, stuff like that. C'mon, summer is for having fun! Clearly we need to get a zipline going or something.
cephalopodcounselor: (07)

[personal profile] cephalopodcounselor 2013-06-30 11:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Just because you don't find learning new things fun doesn't mean I don't.

[She eyes the trees and then the lake.]

A zipline isn't something you can simply fly up there and put together in minutes. But I wouldn't mind swimming a little longer.
windyheir: (thinking)

[personal profile] windyheir 2013-07-01 12:10 am (UTC)(link)
So it's a project, no big deal. There's a couple cabins full of kids who love projects.

[John likes talking and traveling more than building, though for fun he can make an exception.]

I was gonna ask, how can you go underwater for so long? Don't you have to breathe?
cephalopodcounselor: (05)

[personal profile] cephalopodcounselor 2013-07-01 02:17 am (UTC)(link)
I'm sure you can gather up a whole horde of them to complete the project later.

[A small smile.]

It's my little secret. However, since you are such a dear friend to me I will give you the tiniest of hints. Actually, it's a rather large hint despite it's length. Magic.
