[Basically, if you've ever wanted to throw your character into the world of Heroes of Olympus, now you can! Make them a Greek demigod! Make them Roman! Make them a Satyr if you want. [Dirk's never been a bow kind of guy himself, but he could appreciate the people who did use them.]

No matter what you do, the flexibility'll go down, though celestial bronze can preserve that better than most metals. But I bet you can make it last long enough to get a new one.

Yeah, and maybe finally figure out how to make a rifle that works against monsters. [The idea has rattled around her in her head since she first became a camper at thirteen. One day, whether by her brains or another means, having a rifle is going to happen if she has anything to say about it. Monsters will probably laugh right up until she shoots them in the face.]

Anyway, it seems like I'll need an extra five seconds to draw at the very least if the repairs go right. [Five more seconds is an eternity in a fight that can last up to a minute or less.]

In theory, the only part of the rifle you'd have to make into Celestial Bronze is the bullets. They're the shit that's actually doing the killing.

[Though having the rest of it made out of bronze could be a benefit too, depending on what it would be used for. Now that he's started thinking about it, Dirk isn't going to put the idea aside either.]

Seems like it's time to start carrying around a secondary weapon.

It's a good idea to make all the metal parts into Celestial Bronze. Rifles are about their range and defense! It gives me a few seconds to draw my knives. [She already has a secondary weapon. She draws one from her boot, flipping the bladed weapon in the air and catching it by the handle.

But, Dirk adding his input to the idea has her flipping the paper to a fresh page and sketching out a rifle and labeling the parts.] The problem is the amount of ammo needed. In a long fight it would be too much bronze used at once.

If there was a method to get them back each time, it might be more plausible, but who knows if that kind of enchantment is plausible for use on a small thing like a bullet.

That would be a question for anyone from Hephaestus cabin. [She's so sure it will work. Jade pours over the data and pauses.] Wait.

[Without a word, she's on her feet and tearing down the hill and skidding to take the path leading to Athena's cabin. Back when she first got to camp she'd been asked to choose a weapon and offered what was in the toolshed behind Athena's cabin.
