Camp Half Blood
Welcome, Demigods!
"If you're reading this because you think you might be one, my advice is: close this book right now. Being a half-blood is dangerous."
[Basically, if you've ever wanted to throw your character into the world of Heroes of Olympus, now you can! Make them a Greek demigod! Make them Roman! Make them a Satyr if you want. Just make it so that they've always been here (If they have, all the better for them.) Post with a few options, or let people respond with their own! Have fun.]
Dave Strider
[Dave is writing...something as he sits against a tree near the lake. He's pretty intent on writing whatever the hell it is. Every now and then he pauses, as if thinking. Dave is quick to return to scribbling down on the paper, oblivious to the world around him.]
[Option B]
[Whatever scenario you want!]

Are you yankin' my chain or are you serious? Thought I had five more minutes until then.
[Dave pauses as he looks up at the position of the sun.]
...I stand corrected. Guess I was too wrapped up in this. Shit. Guess I'll have to make up the time for that.

She gets to her feet and stretches her arms over her head, feeling her shoulder pop. Hunting knives vs a sword is tricky. It's fine though, she knows she can hold her own against him. Jade smiles as she looks over her shoulder back down at Dave.] I'll even go ahead of you and take a little heat off your back.
no subject
Nah, I can handle the heat. No need to drag you down into the flames of shame. Let's get over there before we get in more trouble than I already am.

She laughs and takes off, the wind in her face and her laughter carrying back to him. Once, she'd thought to be a hunter of Artemis. The offer had been given to her before she'd come to camp. She'd turned it down. She couldn't turn her back on people! Grandpa wouldn't want her to give up such things. She's glad she didn't take the offer.
When they get to the practice area, she slows down to let Dave go first. He has to explain himself, after all.]

No, not really, he'll just look at John.]
Dude. Why.
[If John bothers to look, it's basically a lot of haikus and sonnets in varying degrees of good and bad.]

It's like a million degrees out and there's not a cloud in the sky. Today is a day for adventure, not books!

[Dave sighs dramatically.]
Why he's enamored by that form I have no idea, and I'm sufferin' for it.
no subject
[But as he says that, he opens the book to look at some of the poems.]
Wow, these are kind of shitty.

[The last part is said just in case Apollo decides to curse him for that. Luckily, he's not as bad with his ego as Athena, so he's pretty safe.]

Hmmm. Interesting choice of subject there with such evocative imagery in so few syllables. I can't wait to read more. Are they all as Oedipal in content as this particular one?
no subject
I fail to see how I'm describin' my own mom in this haiku. What was the opposite of Oedipus again? Electrum or somethin'?
no subject
[She reads the haiku over his shoulder. The smirk on her face quite evident in her voice.]
Pink and yellow as
the sunset in the summer
so damn beautiful.
[A pause.]
Now tell me, Dave, how is that not Oedipal in nature?
no subject
[He rolls his eyes.]
It could be anything that isn't mom. There's lots of pink and yellow things. As far as you know, I might be describing one of the nymphs.
no subject
[She moves to sit down next to him.]
Is there a young nymph that's caught your eye? I'm unconvinced. You should read me another haiku so I can get a more thorough grasp on your foray into this style of poetry.
